Junior Achievement (JA) focuses on making students financially responsible, prepared for the workforce, and entrepreneurially savvy. JA provides a powerful learning experience for young people for two reasons:
- JA programs are delivered by volunteers from businesses and the community, who work hand-in-hand with classroom teachers. These volunteers inspire the students through their real world experience.
- The curriculum consists of hands-on activities that allow students to learn by doing. The activities were designed by national experts in learning and are engaging, fun, and comprehensive. All JA lessons correlate to the state curriculum standards.
The goals of JA create a dynamic partnership with the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board and Workforce Connection. Together they are delivering financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship skills to youth participants. JA is provided to students outside the traditional school classroom setting and allows students to have real life experience.
We would like to issue a special thank you to Junior Achievement and the program operators on this successful endeavor!
